Day 68 - Lock Down

So I have made brownies,  Smores Cookie Bars and a Taco Bell Crunch Wrap Supreme! I have also done some uni work, and spend a stupid amount of time on tik tok!

That is literally I have done, in the 2 weeks since I last posted!

There is nothing to do, I am always bored! All of the time.

Friday 15 May 2020

Day 54 - Lock Down

I am incredibly bored now! Someone for the love of good message me or something! I wish I had a puppy! I spend way to much time on tik tok. I need to do some exercise!

Day 49 - Lock Down

So Lock down might be ending tomorrow. I think that would be a bad decision! Our death toll is the highest in Europe, we should not be ending this! We all need to stay inside a little bit longer till this passes and we will all be safe.

I was meant to be flying to Bali in 4 days, and as much as I wish I could go, and even if the lock down ends I still can't go (mainly because everything has been cancelled already) because it wouldn't be the right thing to do. I could risk my life, and the lives of my family. We should all stay inside for another few weeks and then re-evaluate where we are and decide from there if we should lift the lock down or not.

Stay Inside and Save Lives

Day 44 - Lock Down

I had a weird dream the other night involving David Dobrik, twin dwarf hamsters and a Tesla! It was very weird, some brief highlights include David and I adopting twin female dwarf hamsters, me losing them, and then they turned into fully grown human male twins. It was one of the weirder dreams I have had, and I felt the need to share it with you all.

I've nearly finished a second painting, this one of a cat! And I am in the middle of watching all the Marvel movies in Chronological order with my mum!

Day 39 - Lock Down

Finished my paint by numbers yesterday! It looks pretty cool, but I don't know what to do with it now! I just kind of have a painting, with no where to put it. It isn't framed or anything so I can't hang it up, it's just kind of there now!

I've got two more to do! So better get to it!

Day 34 - Lock Down

So I have been in lock down for over a month now! I thought it was getting easier, but the last few days I've been struggling a lot. I find my self pushing my friends away, and not feeling up to socialising, and then I feel bad because what if they need me. But then I just sit there and I just don't want to do anything, whether it is message or videochat. Like today one of my friends created a quiz for us to do as a group and I just couldn't do it. I found myself dreading seeing them and having to talk, it's how I used to feel about going to school or uni. Dreading having to socialise and knowing how to act and what to say. I feel bad because they're my friends and I shouldn't dread seeing them, they're an amazing bunch of people and I love them. But I just couldn't do it.

It's tough, and I wish everything could go back to the way it was, and I wish my trip to Bali hadn't been cancelled, and I could go and visit my friends and family, but we can't right now, and that's just the way it is. And it sucks but we have to deal with it, to keep everyone safe.

Stay Home, Save Lives.

Day 29 - Lock Down

So today was a mixed day.

We took food to my Nan and Grandad, so I got to see them for a bit, although we did stand at the end of their driveway, but we had a chat with them from a distance! My Grandad had made us some cake so he left that on the door stop for us, which was nice! My Nan informed us he was under strict guidance from her to make sure they turned out okay!

My trip to Bali has been cancelled. I saw it coming, but still it sucks to get the call and have them tell you it won't be going ahead, and that you can't have a refund! (I am appealing this!) They offered to postpone my trip, or give me credit for another trip. I was meant to be going with a friend, and that date was the only one we could do, so we can't postpone for this year, and we have uni next year, and don't know when our courses end, or our job prospects for after uni! I don't want to postpone the trip till next year only for us to cancel it and then not be able to get a refund. Legally the company have to give us a refund if they cancel, so we are hoping to be able to get one. The flights are a big issue as they haven't been cancelled yet, so we might not be able to get any money back from them.

Anyway enough of my moping about my cancelled plans! People have it a lot worse than me right now!

Day 24 - Lock Down - Run 5

So today one of my horrible horrible friends nominated me for that instagram challenge! Run 5, Donate 5, Tag 5.

So I had to go out and walk 5k, because it would be physically impossible for me to run that far, and then I donated £5 to the Run For Heros charity, who are raising money for the NHS, and other key workers! And then I challenged 5 of my friends to do it!

Mum and I also planned out the food for the next week, so she knows exactly what to get when she goes food shopping tomorrow! We're running low on a lot, so it is going to be a big shop!

I also did some more painting today! It is coming along very well!

Songs I'm Currently Listening To

So today on this Easter Saturday, I am here to give you an update on some music that I've been enjoying recently, or well resonating with! I've put 7 of my favourite tracks below, but I'm enjoying so much music right now it would be impossible to share it all with you!

Moral of the Story by Ashe

If you're on tiktok you have probably heard this song at some point, but I do really like it at the moment, because of mistakes that I have made in the guy department!

Lonely by Noah Cyrus

I think a lot of people may relate to this song at the moment as we are all stuck inside away from our friends and relationships.

Falling by Harry Styles

This is just such a good song, Harry Styles has become such a great and influential artist since leaving One Direction, and however much I may want them to get back together I highly doubt it will ever happen!

Jump by Julia Michaels and Trippie Redd

This song means a lot to me, and it really helped me get over the guy I was seeing, which is strange considering it is a love song, but I read it as I was jumping into the arms of this guy every time I saw him, but he was so toxic for me, and I had to stop.

Take What You Want by Post Malone, Ozzy Osborne and Travis Scott

I just really like this song, and the guitar solo is insanely good! I have always loved Post Malone and his music, and this is another one of his incredible tracks.

I Think I'm OKAY by Machine Gun Kelly, YUNGBLUD and Travis Barker

Once again another song I just really like, I also kind of relate to it, as I mess up alot and make a lot of mistakes, but that's okay, because I'm human, and we make mistakes!

Never Seen The Rain by Tones and I

Her voice is just so incredible and this song is truly just so good!

I think that might be enough songs for one day! Please check out all the songs, I promise they are all really good!

Stay safe everyone!

Day 19 - Lock Down - Easter Cakes!

So my Mum and I make Easter Cakes every year, and we made them today and believe me they were incredible! Light and fluffy and the buttercream was the perfect level of sweet! And then on top of the cupcakes we make a little nest made out of flakes and mini eggs! Delicious! We had to make some without Chocolate for my Dad, but he kept trying to still my cakes off of my plate!

It was a really nice day out today, so Mum and I went for a walk around the Country Park that is close by to our house! We walked there and back so we didn't break the lock down rules! We were very surprised to see so few people there, but that was better for us, as we didn't have to worry about avoiding people and keeping to the distancing rules.

I was really tired today, as I am most days! I've been trying not to nap so that I can sleep at night, but I still seem to be wide awake as soon as I am meant to be in bed, no matter how tired I am throughout the day! I think I need to get sleeping tablets or something to knock me out! I don't know why I find it so hard to sleep, I never had this issue over the summer when I was working all the time! And it's not like I drink too much caffeine or something to keep me up, because I don't drink caffeine at all. It makes me really sick. I just want to sleep and I can't.

On a final note, I know it may be tempting to head to the beach with this hot weather, but please, please stay inside! Stay home, save lives.

Tuesday 7 April 2020

Day 16 - Lock Down

Pressure Washed the garden today! I love doing it! It is so satisfying so all the dirt being sprayed away, we hadn't cleaned the patio in so long that it was literally black with dirt in some places, and now after being cleaned it is back to its light grey colouring! I also cleaned off the pagoda in the back corner of our garden! It is under some trees so gets dirty very easily!

If it were my garden there are sooooo many things I would change! For example: I would get rid of the bamboo plant, it has grown out of control and is taller than my house not. We also have a tree in the front garden that needs to go as it is also taller than my house, that tree is blocking all the light going into our neighbours house so it is only fair that it goes, but it is my Dad's favourite tree and he won't let us get rid of it! I would also restore the herb garden, as it is not only mint and rosemary! I would also fix the fence that got broken when the council cut down a tree behind our house.

It was a lovely day out today and I was glad to be in the garden! I truly feel for those people that are trapped inside flats in this lock down!

I haven't said this as of yet, but I would truly like to thank the NHS and all the hard work they are doing for our country!

Friday 3 April 2020

Day 12 - Lock Down

We completed the donuts! They turned out alright! I really enjoyed making them, and eating them! We covered them in pink icing and sprinkles to make them look like classic donuts!

I started some painting today! I'm doing a paint by numbers of Van Gogh's Starry Night! It took me all day but I finished painting number 14! Only 27 more colour's to go!

Mum and I went on a long walk as well today! It was nice out so it was really good to go out and get some fresh air!

Day 11 - Lock Down - Baking!

I did some cooking and stuff!

I'm having trouble getting to sleep at night, not helped by my recent download of tiktok on to my phone, but I have always had trouble getting to sleep. so with no reason to get up in the morning I have been sleeping in until 11ish. Which to some people out there may not seem quite bad, but for me that is, because I used to have to get up at 6am to go to work every morning, so there is a sudden drastic change, and now I feel like I'm wasting my days, but to get a normal amount of sleep I need to sleep in until 11 otherwise I just wake up tired and end up needing a nap, or 2.

Today I made what was meant to be granola cookies, but didn't go to plan so it ended up being a granola slab. We then cut it up to make bars, but the mixture wasn't sticking together so we couldn't form balls to make cookies, hence making a slab instead.

We also started to make doughnuts. They have to be chilled in the fridge over night before we can bake them tomorrow! It's a pretty cool recipe actually because you don't fry them you bake them, and you also don't need to knead the dough.

I also made some chocolate covered strawberries, because I have been craving them recently, and so I thought why not? They are partly healthy, right? You know because of the strawberry part!

I also went on a long-ish walk with my Mum, so we also got outside and got some fresh air which was good.

I didn't have a good day yesterday. I could barely leave the bed, as I just didn't have any motivation to do anything. Sometimes I just get days like that, normally I can push through it because I have to go to work, but now with no job it just seemed like an impossible task for me to achieve.

It is okay not to be okay, and to have bad days. But in a time like this where we can't leave the house. We need to fight even harder to get out of bed and to do things, otherwise it will just make everything seem worse.

Tuesday 31 March 2020

Day 9 Lock Down

Once again not much was completed today. I wrote some more of my book but I ran out of paper, so I had to stop for a bit. I should say I'm not writing the whole book on paper, but I am rewriting parts of it on paper as i find it easier to read and understand grammar mistakes and what needs changing more if it is physically in front of me than if it is on a screen. Also I suffer from fairly bad migraines so sometimes staring at a screen is just not a possibility for me, as it makes them a lot worse.

My mum did a lot of baking today! We had Banana Muffins for breakfast, and Blackberry and Apple pie for dessert. We also had homemade pizza!

I went on my daily walk again today, but was worried about my health when my heart rate went up to 134 bpm, just from a short walk, which should not be occurring as far as I am aware. Even with my naturally fast heart rate. So I will be keeping an eye on that, just to be safe.

Sunday 29 March 2020

Day 7 Lock Down

Feeling much better today. Heart rate has gone down drastically! Hopefully on the mend now!

It snowed today, which was super weird! Since when does it snow in March?

I went for a walk, and wrote some more of my book, which is progressing quite nicely! And I watched a lot of tv with my mum! We have started binge watching Bones, and now after 1 season I am emotionally invested with all of the characters!

Regarding my book, I think I'm doing okay with it. It is essentially written, I am just going though and changing a lot of it, and adding in a fair amount but also removing a lot. I originally wrote a lot of it when I was like 15, so it was very girly and waffley. I am changing a lot of it, if i'm being honest. I've also been doing a lot of research to make sure stuff is more accurate, and not just guessing at things.

I don't want to brag or anything, but I would read my book if I hadn't written, but that's what they tell you to do right? You write something you would read and most likely someone else will want to read it as well! So thats what I've done! I've written something I would love to read, and hopefully when it is finished someone else will want to read it as well. And then hopefully I can get super rich and never have to work another day in my life.

Saturday 28 March 2020

Day 6 Lock Down - My Dad's 60th Birthday

So today is my Dad's Birthday! He turned 60 and 8 days ago I turned 21! All we could do for his birthday was a quiet meal and a cake, no family round! I don't know if he preferred that or not. Like me I think my dad is a tad anti-social.

I was very ill this morning. I had a migraine so bad I could barely move, and the pain was making me feel sick. It cleared as the day progressed but it is starting to edge back in now. My heart has been pounding so hard in my chest. I can just be lying there and I can feel it pulsing in my chest. It has been a resting rate of 98 bpm today with a high of 106 bpm.

I couldn't go for a walk today, because I couldn't move. I feel like the lack of fresh air made my headache a lot worse.

Friday 27 March 2020

Day 5 Lock Down

I feel ill. I'm not too worried, I don't have the virus symptoms, just the ones for a normal cold. Sneezing, head ache, blocked nose, sore throat. No cough, no fever, and I pretty much always have a shortness of breath!

My heart rate is up to a resting rate of 96 bpm. My normal resting rate is around 76 bpm. I have a naturally fast heart rate normally, but the fact that it has risen to 96 bpm means I am probably fighting something off. Hopefully just a cold.

Wednesday 25 March 2020

Day 3 Lock Down

My Mother has gone to collect my Brother from university today, he was running low on food and there was no where nearby for him to get more! So we are classing it as essential travel to go and get him!

My Dad and I went to Morrison's to get our food shop, and we managed to get most of the stuff on my Mum's list, but we couldn't get any beef mince, or pasta. We have no pasta and it is heartbreaking! Well that's a lie, i actually don't really enjoy pasta that much, but the rest of my family love it!

They had a lot of toilet paper in there though, however, we don't need any as we just bought a massive pack from Costco, literally the week before this all hit, so we have enough toilet paper for a while!

I was going to do some things of my list today, but my Dad shot them down! Apparently I can't clean the garden until it has been tidied and I can't wash my car because that would mean moving it on to the driveway which my Mum would need when she is unloading the car. So I've been stuck inside for most of the day again.

Tuesday 24 March 2020

Day 2 Lock Down

I have no idea what to do with myself. So much time and nothing to do. I don't feel like reading, or watching TV. I suddenly want to go out and do things now that I can't.

I had a paint by numbers arrive yesterday, but I ordered one without a frame, so I need to send it back and order a new one, but with frames this time, and then I'll have that to do. I have made a list of things that I need to do, but I feel like I don't have the motivation to do it.

I have always struggled with motivation, and even though I have all the time in the world and am so bored, I still can't bring myself to do things. That's bad, right?

Here is my list of things to do: (maybe it will inspire some people)

  1. Finish Writing Book
  2. Finish Placement Portfolio (This is for my degree)
  3. Update Placement Diary (also for my degree)
  4. Scan Programme Agreement and Upload (this is for my holiday to Bali that hopefully is still going ahead!)
  5. Read a Book
  6. Pressure Wash Garden (It's super dirty, and for some reason it always falls to me to clean it!)
  7. Clean Car (My poor baby is very dirty)
  8. Do Scrap Book
  9. Colouring (it relaxes me)
  10. Paint by Numbers
  11. Finish Knitting Scarf (I started this about 9 years ago!)
  12. Practice Yoga
  13. Update CV
Hopefully this will give some people a few ideas on what they can do, during this lock down!

Other things to do may include:
  • Going for a walk
  • Calling Relatives
  • Clean House - I did this one already - well I cleaned the bathroom and my mum did the rest of the house
I hope this helps!

Cringe and Coronavirus

So, stuck in lock down after only 3 hours, and I though 'hey what happened to that blog I was writing ages ago' and well I tracked it down, and have found this lovely page! I re-read a few of the posts and Dear God I was cringey! It feels so long ago that I wrote it all.

With all the bad in the world right now, with the ever lovely Coronavirus, I thought I would find something to do and write this blog again to help pass the time and distract myself from the boredom.

Coronavirus is a big thing, and we need to take the correct precautions to protect ourselves! I fully agree with Boris Johnson's decision to lock down our country, and believe that actions should have occurred much sooner to delay the spread.

My family have no pasta or hand sanitiser, and we are struggling to buy bread, meat and eggs. This insanity with bulk buying needs to stop, or else people who actually need food aren't going to be able to get any.

Hopefully these new measures brought in by Boris will limit peoples need to go outside and bulk buy so that people like my Nan and Grandad can go to the shops and not have to worry if they will be able to buy any food or not. My Nan, who recently broke her ankle, and now had trouble walking, had to trek round 3 superstores trying to find toilet paper, and fabric conditioner. My Aunt falls into a risk category and has to worry every time she goes out of the house that she may now catch the virus, and she could die. These aren't things that should be happening.

Everyone please stay inside, only go out if you have too, and please wash your hands!
