Day 9 Lock Down

Once again not much was completed today. I wrote some more of my book but I ran out of paper, so I had to stop for a bit. I should say I'm not writing the whole book on paper, but I am rewriting parts of it on paper as i find it easier to read and understand grammar mistakes and what needs changing more if it is physically in front of me than if it is on a screen. Also I suffer from fairly bad migraines so sometimes staring at a screen is just not a possibility for me, as it makes them a lot worse.

My mum did a lot of baking today! We had Banana Muffins for breakfast, and Blackberry and Apple pie for dessert. We also had homemade pizza!

I went on my daily walk again today, but was worried about my health when my heart rate went up to 134 bpm, just from a short walk, which should not be occurring as far as I am aware. Even with my naturally fast heart rate. So I will be keeping an eye on that, just to be safe.

Day 7 Lock Down

Feeling much better today. Heart rate has gone down drastically! Hopefully on the mend now!

It snowed today, which was super weird! Since when does it snow in March?

I went for a walk, and wrote some more of my book, which is progressing quite nicely! And I watched a lot of tv with my mum! We have started binge watching Bones, and now after 1 season I am emotionally invested with all of the characters!

Regarding my book, I think I'm doing okay with it. It is essentially written, I am just going though and changing a lot of it, and adding in a fair amount but also removing a lot. I originally wrote a lot of it when I was like 15, so it was very girly and waffley. I am changing a lot of it, if i'm being honest. I've also been doing a lot of research to make sure stuff is more accurate, and not just guessing at things.

I don't want to brag or anything, but I would read my book if I hadn't written, but that's what they tell you to do right? You write something you would read and most likely someone else will want to read it as well! So thats what I've done! I've written something I would love to read, and hopefully when it is finished someone else will want to read it as well. And then hopefully I can get super rich and never have to work another day in my life.

Day 6 Lock Down - My Dad's 60th Birthday

So today is my Dad's Birthday! He turned 60 and 8 days ago I turned 21! All we could do for his birthday was a quiet meal and a cake, no family round! I don't know if he preferred that or not. Like me I think my dad is a tad anti-social.

I was very ill this morning. I had a migraine so bad I could barely move, and the pain was making me feel sick. It cleared as the day progressed but it is starting to edge back in now. My heart has been pounding so hard in my chest. I can just be lying there and I can feel it pulsing in my chest. It has been a resting rate of 98 bpm today with a high of 106 bpm.

I couldn't go for a walk today, because I couldn't move. I feel like the lack of fresh air made my headache a lot worse.

Day 5 Lock Down

I feel ill. I'm not too worried, I don't have the virus symptoms, just the ones for a normal cold. Sneezing, head ache, blocked nose, sore throat. No cough, no fever, and I pretty much always have a shortness of breath!

My heart rate is up to a resting rate of 96 bpm. My normal resting rate is around 76 bpm. I have a naturally fast heart rate normally, but the fact that it has risen to 96 bpm means I am probably fighting something off. Hopefully just a cold.

Day 3 Lock Down

My Mother has gone to collect my Brother from university today, he was running low on food and there was no where nearby for him to get more! So we are classing it as essential travel to go and get him!

My Dad and I went to Morrison's to get our food shop, and we managed to get most of the stuff on my Mum's list, but we couldn't get any beef mince, or pasta. We have no pasta and it is heartbreaking! Well that's a lie, i actually don't really enjoy pasta that much, but the rest of my family love it!

They had a lot of toilet paper in there though, however, we don't need any as we just bought a massive pack from Costco, literally the week before this all hit, so we have enough toilet paper for a while!

I was going to do some things of my list today, but my Dad shot them down! Apparently I can't clean the garden until it has been tidied and I can't wash my car because that would mean moving it on to the driveway which my Mum would need when she is unloading the car. So I've been stuck inside for most of the day again.

Day 2 Lock Down

I have no idea what to do with myself. So much time and nothing to do. I don't feel like reading, or watching TV. I suddenly want to go out and do things now that I can't.

I had a paint by numbers arrive yesterday, but I ordered one without a frame, so I need to send it back and order a new one, but with frames this time, and then I'll have that to do. I have made a list of things that I need to do, but I feel like I don't have the motivation to do it.

I have always struggled with motivation, and even though I have all the time in the world and am so bored, I still can't bring myself to do things. That's bad, right?

Here is my list of things to do: (maybe it will inspire some people)

  1. Finish Writing Book
  2. Finish Placement Portfolio (This is for my degree)
  3. Update Placement Diary (also for my degree)
  4. Scan Programme Agreement and Upload (this is for my holiday to Bali that hopefully is still going ahead!)
  5. Read a Book
  6. Pressure Wash Garden (It's super dirty, and for some reason it always falls to me to clean it!)
  7. Clean Car (My poor baby is very dirty)
  8. Do Scrap Book
  9. Colouring (it relaxes me)
  10. Paint by Numbers
  11. Finish Knitting Scarf (I started this about 9 years ago!)
  12. Practice Yoga
  13. Update CV
Hopefully this will give some people a few ideas on what they can do, during this lock down!

Other things to do may include:
  • Going for a walk
  • Calling Relatives
  • Clean House - I did this one already - well I cleaned the bathroom and my mum did the rest of the house
I hope this helps!

Cringe and Coronavirus

So, stuck in lock down after only 3 hours, and I though 'hey what happened to that blog I was writing ages ago' and well I tracked it down, and have found this lovely page! I re-read a few of the posts and Dear God I was cringey! It feels so long ago that I wrote it all.

With all the bad in the world right now, with the ever lovely Coronavirus, I thought I would find something to do and write this blog again to help pass the time and distract myself from the boredom.

Coronavirus is a big thing, and we need to take the correct precautions to protect ourselves! I fully agree with Boris Johnson's decision to lock down our country, and believe that actions should have occurred much sooner to delay the spread.

My family have no pasta or hand sanitiser, and we are struggling to buy bread, meat and eggs. This insanity with bulk buying needs to stop, or else people who actually need food aren't going to be able to get any.

Hopefully these new measures brought in by Boris will limit peoples need to go outside and bulk buy so that people like my Nan and Grandad can go to the shops and not have to worry if they will be able to buy any food or not. My Nan, who recently broke her ankle, and now had trouble walking, had to trek round 3 superstores trying to find toilet paper, and fabric conditioner. My Aunt falls into a risk category and has to worry every time she goes out of the house that she may now catch the virus, and she could die. These aren't things that should be happening.

Everyone please stay inside, only go out if you have too, and please wash your hands!
